OK- You've received a Bouquet of Hand-tied Flowers! Or treated yourself to some much needed Flower Therapy.  After the flower selfies and posting, (don't forget to tag #labellaflowers and #keeplovealive) get ready for the FUN!

What to do now...no worries! Whether this is your first or you're a seasoned pro when it comes to cut stems, we've got you covered. Pro tips and all. Here's what you need to know to keep your bouquet looking good and lovin' life!
  • Gather your freshly-washed vase, or get creative - anything that holds water!
  • Find your scissors, kitchen shears, or a sharp knife
  • Cool clean water
  • Keep away from cold drafts or excessive heat - bloom's are sensitive
  • Pet's like to sniff & nibble - most flowers are not edible!
  • Smile when you look at them ENJOY knowing that they were arranged with LOVE!

Nitty Gritty
  • Hydration, Hydration, Hydration!!!  All flowers are thirsty when they arrive and cool, clean water is what they love to drink. So let's get off on the right foot with a quick trim. Cut all stems, one at a time, at least 1/4" from the ends.
  • PRO Tip- Aim to cut at a 45° angle. It allows flowers to drink more and prevents stems from sitting flush on the bottom of the container.
  • Always fill your vase with cool, clean water. A clean vase means no dust, film, dirt at the bottom. If it's clean enough to drink from it, it's clean...and you only need the vase filled about 1/4 from the bottom. They do not need to be submerged to their little necks!
  • Design 101 - crisscross mindset - Build your bouquet by placing bloom's on the opposite sides of the vase & working your way to the middle. Starting on the outside allows stems to crisscross which helps hold bloom's in place. PRO TIP - start with greenery first, crisscrossing with blooms. Greenery leaves make a strong "grid" that help's bloom's stay in place.
  • Change your water daily or as often as you can. Sunlight naturally causes bacteria so, bring your container to the sink, pour out water and add cool, clean water.
  • A trim a day keeps flowers looking good. Grab them with your hand, like a lobster-claw and just trim the bottom, repeat the 1/4" trim and GO FOR THE GOLD with a 45° angle!
  • Remove the bloom's that have wilted or expired .... "dead bloom's bum out the vibrant bloom's" and remember that bacteria is not our friend in this case.

Enjoy your bouquet!  All that's needed to care for your flowers is part of the good vibe they bring to you. It feels good to look at Happy Flowers and we love to see happy faces.
